Max Construction was proud to partner with American Legion Post 57 in Saltsburg on improvements to their facility, helping create a welcoming, functional space that continues to serve local veterans and the surrounding community. The project included construction of a new entry tower addition, creating a prominent new entrance and enclosed vestibule while complementing the existing American Legion facility. We also transformed the building’s exterior with new siding and stonework, while interior improvements included a new ceiling and updated lighting. Outside the Legion, Max Construction cleared and prepared a new site for a community pavilion. The new pavilion features a concrete floor, metal roof, and electrical service, providing an additional gathering space for Legion members, veterans, their families, and the community. Projects like this are especially meaningful to Max Construction because they allow us to contribute to the places and organizations that strengthen our communities. We are honored to have played a part in improving a facility that supports those who have served our country and provides a place for veterans and their families to gather, connect, and celebrate together.

Max Construction was proud to help enhance the Saltsburg Pool with improvements designed to create a more welcoming, functional, and enjoyable space for families and visitors. The project included renovations to the pool’s concession stand, bathhouse, and storage shed, along with the construction of new outdoor pavilions and gathering areas. The new pavilions provide shaded spaces for families and groups to gather, enjoy meals, and take a break from the pool, while the facility renovations refreshed and improved the pool’s essential amenities. Together, these improvements modernized the facility and helped create a more comfortable and inviting environment for the community to enjoy for years to come. The project was completed in the summer of 2025.

Continuing a Legacy Along the Conemaugh River The Rivers’ Edge Park in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania holds a special place in the history of Max Construction Company. Originally constructed by Max Construction employees and dedicated in 1997 as a living memorial to company founder William I. Maxwell, the park was created as a gift to the community he proudly called home. Nearly 30 years later, Max Construction was proud to return to The Rivers’ Edge to help enhance this treasured community gathering place. In 2025, Max Construction rebuilt the park’s main stage and constructed a new roof structure, creating a covered, weather-protected venue for community events, performances and celebrations. Along the riverbank, we also constructed a series of new covered pavilions, providing comfortable gathering spaces where visitors can enjoy the scenic setting along the Conemaugh River. Work continued in 2026 with additional improvements and the construction of more riverfront pavilions, expanding the park’s gathering areas and creating an inviting connection between the walking path and the river. The result is a renewed riverfront destination that blends seamlessly with the park’s original character while providing improved spaces for the community to gather, celebrate and enjoy the outdoors. From the park’s original construction in memory of William I. Maxwell to its latest improvements, Max Construction is proud to have played a role in The Rivers’ Edge for nearly three decades. It is especially meaningful to return to a project that represents our company’s history, our connection to the Saltsburg community and our commitment to building places that are made to last.

Max Construction participates in the “Meals From The Heart” program, where volunteers from our corporate office prepare lunch for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, located adjacent to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. This program gives families an opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked meal while remaining close to their child during their hospital stay.
